The busiest time of the year is certainly upon us. Every year at this time, I find myself scrambling around to get everything done in time for Christmas. Even though my husband and I are separated each year at this time due to his job taking him out of state, I’m still frantically worried I won’t have everything done by the time he comes home. So needless to say, we haven’t had many chances to have any type of romance closeness. My son and I try to visit him at least a couple of times while he’s gone, but since Brody is now in school, we have limited time to travel.
So, to make things special for us, I’ve got to start planning on how I can bring our romance back alive when he gets home. A sure way is to come up with some fun and quality things that we can do together. I’ve made a list…and I’m checking it twice!!!
My husband and I live in a cottage style home right in the middle of an old town. Inside our home is warm and cozy – just the way we like it. Our bedroom especially is the coziest of all. With a small fireplace in the middle of the room, we get to enjoy a fire while cuddling during our intimate moments.
To spark some passion with him, I’ve created 12 fun and cozy ideas that we can do together to celebrate us during the holidays. This is something new that I haven’t done before, and if it takes off well, I can see it being a tradition every year that he has to work far from home.
Whether your life is hectic during the holidays and you have no time to spend with your partner, or perhaps like mine where I don’t get to see him at all, there’s always time to create some closeness. Hopefully, my warm and cozy list can help you too!!
12 Days of a Cozy Holiday Romance

Write down 5 things that you love about each other, then share
Leave love notes around the house – ie. near coffee pot, by each sink, on pillow, etc.
Plan a date-night-in with dinner, candles, love songs playing in the background, and a glass of wine or your favorite hot toddy
No cell phone evening
Snuggle up on your porch swing (or in the grass with a blanket) and watch the stars
Make a romantic Christmas Eve box for two (see below)
Hope this list gives you some romantic holiday ideas that you can surprise your significant other with – and if nothing else, I do hope I’ve inspired you enough to enjoy better intimate closeness during this busiest season of all!! Take time for each other.
I’m totally all over this idea of a Christmas Eve box where one person gets to open it on Christmas Eve. I first saw this on Facebook where a parent did this for their kid (actually, it was my husband that showed it to me), I thought it was a fab idea…then I had another thought…why not do this for us and my husband can open it when our son goes to bed.
Find a box and wrap the insides, stuff it with shredded paper, and find fun things to put inside. Can be items you already have mixed with new romantic items – just have fun with it!!
In my Christmas Eve box, I’ve included our favorite pair of matching pajama pants that we wear each year for the holidays, two cups filled with hot chocolate mix, marshmallows, and a few red hots, and a bottle of the new K-Y® TOUCH®, a candle, and some extra red hots just for the fun of it!!
It’s important to us that we find fun ways to keep our passion going when he returns home from being away for 3 months or so. This present…I’m sure will be his favorite!!
On another note…knowing that K-Y® is a trusted name in pleasure gels, and one I’m familiar with, I turned to using it when I started getting feelings of discomfort during intimacy. I’ve got to blame that on good ole menopause. I’m deep into menopause, and dryness is definitely a side effect. K-Y® is truly a lifesaver.
K-Y® TOUCH® is located next to the pharmacy in the family planning aisle at Walmart. While I was shopping, I used this $2 off coupon for any K-Y® product.
K-Y® understands the needs of real couples and wants to help couples grow more intimate together. How will you plan for romance with your partner this holiday season? Will you be trying something new?
