200 Volunteers to Build Fort Worth Playground
10:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.
This new playground will provide a safer place to play, and offer a wider range of play opportunities that encourage group interaction. Play is a critical part of a child’s healthy development. It enables kids to explore, imagine and simply enjoy being a kid. Currently, the playground at HV Helbing Elementary School is outdated and in much need of replacement. We believe that a playful child has unlimited potential. In building this playground together, we will help Fort Worth become more playable by making it easier for more than 800 kids to get the play they need to grow and thrive.
This build, supporting the HV Helbing Elementary School, is part of The CarMax Foundation’s nationwide partnership with KaBOOM! that aims to build 33 new playgrounds by the end of 2018, and reach a total of 300,000 kids throughout the partnership.
The CarMax Foundation is designed to enrich the communities where our associates live and work and has donated more than $30 million since 2003. Funding programs are made available through a portion of CarMax, Inc.’s pre-tax profits. CarMax, a member of the FORTUNE 500 and the S&P 500, and one of the FORTUNE 2016 “100 Best Companies to Work For,” is the nation’s largest retailer of used cars. Headquartered in Richmond, Va., CarMax currently operates 158 stores in 78 markets. The consumer offer features low, no haggle prices, a broad selection of CarMax Quality Certified used cars, and superior customer service. During the twelve months ended February 28, 2015, the company retailed 582,282 used vehicles and sold 376,186 wholesale vehicles at our in-store auctions.
