Though this is not my front porch, I am deeply in love with it and love decorating the front of my house and my front porch. I LOVE tulips, but planting them kills my back!
The first of spring is near and I couldn’t be happier. Spring and fall are my favorite times of year to decorate outdoors. My front yard is bare right now, but give it a couple of months and it will be blooming and the butterflies will be swarming around the Lantanas.
Blooms and Butterflies – Is it spring yet?
Here’s a few pictures of my front porch and my front yard as of today. I love ferns. I can take them down and bring them inside if nature decides to give north Texas a few cold and icy days in March or even April. I would love some advice on what flowers to plant this year. I get only morning sun in the front of my house and have been told that I can plant “full shade” plants.
Flowers in Bloom – Butterflies Flutterby
If all goes well, my yellow Lantanas will come back up right here – on both sides of the sidewalk.
My plan here is to plant Caladiums.
Notice the heart rock on the left side of chair? I bought this at a flea market for only $5 bucks. Love it! The Texas Sage bush (right side of chair) doesn’t look very good right now. Sure hope we didn’t kill it.
My little Sam-Sam – he enjoys the outdoors!
I recently became interested in birds and bought a few bird feeders. I love to see and hear the birds outside my window as I sit down at my desk. Sometimes I have to hit the window to get rid of those black birds that I do not want around my feeders. There’s too many of them and they seem to come in droves. I want to see those darling birds that they advertise on the bags of bird seeds…right?
Do you have any advice for my front yard? What are your plans for spring planting!
