Is it just me or do other moms need their own space too…away from their kids? Don’t we all need to go to a place where there’s no interruptions? Why…yes we do! All mommies need a break.
Here’s how I get mine:
- go antiquing or just window shop
- Walmart (I know boring…but I’m alone!)
- Take a bath (lock the door)
- Front porch (sneak out)
- Take a walk (again…sneak out)
- PAY a babysitter!!!
We kind of slacked off getting Brody to bed at 7:30p (which I think is a good time for all 3 year olds to go night night), it was closer to 8p, then after bedtime reading and all, it was close to 8:30p before he actually fell asleep. I can now say, we are back to the 7:30p night time regimen, and (I) start at 7:20p gathering him and his blankets and “Buffy” up to go to bed. Now my husband and I have at least 2 hours to ourselves before our bedtime. We actually played a game of “Skipbo” last night and watched Duck Dynasty. Fun card game and hilarious show.
I know not all mommies have husbands around – I didn’t when I raised my first son, but I was only 20 and don’t remember even thinking of that. But, I’m here to tell ya, no matter at what age you are, motherhood can be tough…so take a break and don’t feel bad that you did!
What ways do you take a break with no interruptions?
