I received a sampler of Daregal Gourmet fresh frozen herbs to review as a part of a Blog Friendly PR campaign. All opinions are my own and no compensation was received.

Unfortunately my passion is not in cooking – my husband is the expert in that area. But I do get the pan out every now and then. When I see a recipe I like, I’ll make it, which most of the time it’s on a whim. But when I do cook, most of my meals involve fresh produce. Now, of course since I mostly cook on a whim, I may not have everything I need. That’s where Daregal’s fresh frozen herbs come in very handy. I knew when I saw these, that they would make great spices to have in the house. They do make remarkable go-to-spices.
My husband is gone most of Sept through middle of Dec working on a hunting ranch in NM so I have to cook for Brody and I. I have made up this one meal dish for him and I to eat…and there will be plenty of leftovers too!

I do love fresh “anything” and that does include herbs and spices. But when you don’t have fresh on hand, Daregal’s fresh frozen herbs are the best thing to have around…all year around! Knowing these will last up to 3 years in the freezer is quite reassuring for me. They’ll always be there when I need them. My favorite is the Garlic spice. It’s smells and taste just like fresh…and that’s important to me.
I do recommend using Daregal’s frozen herbs in your main dish as well as you side dishes. Garlic of course is good in a lot of meats, such as lamb, chicken and steaks, but also in soups and salads. I added Cilantro to my stew to give it a little bit of a kick, but it’s also very good to add to Mexican dishes and to make salsa with. Basil and Parsley can be added to many vegetable dishes as well as egg and fish meals. So the list is endless on what you can do with these fresh frozen herbs. So if you don’t have “fresh”, you’ll always have “fresh frozen” with Daregal.
