Texas doesn’t get much ice or snow, but when we do…we get Iced In!! Here’s a few things we did to stay busy and out of trouble!!
Day 1 of being iced in was yesterday. Daddy was home, so he and Brody played around indoors, and outdoors with the puppies. Day 2 – a little different. Daddy had to go into work, so Brody and I did some activities.
Brody decided he wanted to tape, mark on, and paint a box!! Let me tell ya, don’t go throwing out those empty boxes – kids love them!!!
I thought he’d be happy with just taping and marking on his box! But then he wanted to paint it his favorite color…orange! We also stay in our PJ’s when we’re iced in…why not!!
Here is Captain Ice Robot. That’s what he named it.
Then I made him some hot chocolate…
…and he wanted to drink it outside.
So here are the things we did for the last couple of days:
- Taped, marked on & painted a box
- Gave that box a name and wore it on his head; played with it outside
- Made hot chocolate and drank it outside
- Watched Lorax on the Kindle
- Pestered the puppies
- Watched Baymax on FIOS
- Pestered the puppies some more
and more fun stuff!
I was able to get in some rubber stamping. I made a few birthday cards, got started on Mother’s Day & Easter cards, and made a few Thank you cards. Love making greeting cards, but can’t ever find the time anymore!!
So, what do you and the kids do when you are stuck at home from icy roads or for other reasons?
