I think this Father’s Day was the BEST one yet for my husband. He loved his gifts, especially the plate that my son made in art class with his hand. I’ll show that at the end of this post!! But first, I wanted to show off some cool pictures that I took recently. I didn’t use a fancy camera, just my iPhone 6 Plus AND…one of the photos was even used by a National Brand!!
I’ll tell you about this is a picture first that I took of Tracy and Brody walking down to the beach at Cocoa Beach when we visited there last month. I love the color of the blue sky and how it comes together with the ocean. I also love the way they are both looking off to the right just a little. They are even dressed alike!! Same foot in front of the other too!!! Cool, don’t you think?
I asked Tracy if he remembered what they were looking at, but he didn’t. I love to hang original photos that I take on the wall. It’s nice when I find one that is wall worthy, but it’s nicer when I find one that’s canvas worthy!! Since I do a little bit of affiliate marketing on my blog, there is a link or two below that will take you to a brand that did this canvas for me. If anyone was to click on the links and purchase something, I would get a small commission. Prices are not bumped up to pay their affiliates either – just FYI.
Anyway, I thought this photo in canvas would make a great Father’s Day gift for Tracy to hang on the wall in his office…and I was right – he loved it.
I made one mistake!
When I sent the photo over via my computer to get made in canvas (which was very easy to do) I sent the wrong photo over to them. I had placed a watermark on this photo to use in my blog post about our fun family vacation and that’s the photo I sent over, not the original one. So….that’s why there’s a watermark with my name on it. So….don’t do that!!! Kind of bummed about it, but what can ya do!
I ordered the basic canvas and it came with mounting screws to hang on the wall, but there’s other options too. To see more of our amazing trip to Florida go here.
Okay, here’s the photo that caught the eye of a National Brand.
First, let me tell you a little about the photo. We were in our backyard putting together our first ever garden and Brody of course wanted to help. You know how kids are at the age of 4-5 years old…their help is mostly getting in the way and making your work load heavier…at least ours is that way. Okay, so here’s how he helped us that day.
Brody loves to play in dirt. Well, I guess this time it paid off!!!
When I was first approached by the marketing company that was handling this for the National Brand brand, I had no idea who it was and why they would want this picture. I thought perhaps it was Earthgro, but they found this photo on my Instagram and since photos on Instagram is square, the bottom was cut off off the photo. I was in suspense for quite a while before the marketing company told me who it was.
So, here’s the National Brand who wanted this photo for a Twitter campaign they were doing.
And, yes I got paid…but I can not disclosure.
So, since this was a photo that made Brody a little popular, I thought it would be canvas worthy, so that’s what I did. I had it put on canvas, and perhaps when I tell him about it he will think it’s cool Oscar Mayer liked his photo well enough that they made it into a Twitter Ad!!
Has anything like this every happened to you? I would love to hear about it!
If you’re looking to get one of your favorite photos made into a canvas, Easy Canvas Prints does an excellent job….and it’s really not that expensive.
