One of my favorite things to do is decorate. Growing up, I remember my mom always decorating our home in many different colors. She would take things she already had and moved them around. This is most definitely something I learned from her, but sometimes new items are a must. Here’s how I took the perfect pop for neutral bedding into my bedroom.
I’ve always been told by friends that my home is warm, homey, and inviting. I like that. I try not to make it so country as that type decor is going out, but more of mixing new with vintage. My bedroom is one of my favorite rooms to decorate…or redecorate as my mom would do. I do take her advice and move things around, but I needed to POP my neutral bedding just a tad. My husband and I agree on one thing and that’s the neutral colors I chose for our bedroom.
I found an excellent price on this duvet cover that I couldn’t pass up. I knew I had a few pillows already that would go with it. I also knew where I could find a few more decor items to give it a little color…and that’s at Wayfair.com. I pretty much always find what I’m looking for there.
Do you change out your bedding with each season? I do. That’s 4 times a year – that’s not too much, right? I think I’m one of Wayfair’s most valuable customers. Well, they never told me that, but I love them so much that perhaps they love me the same!!
The Perfect Pop for Neutral Bedding
List of items I bought at Wayfair.com for our king bed
- VHC Huron Denim Bed Skirt $58.99
- Tribeca Living Egyptian Cotton Ivory Bed Sheets $83.09
- Amrapur Luxury Microfiber Indigo Throw Blanket $17.99
- Lattice Damask Throw Pillow – Tangerine $13.99
- Decorative Rectangle Throw Pillows – Multicolored Floral $31.99 – did not use.
Denim Bed Skirt
This light colored denim bed skirt I chose goes with everything, so when I change out my bedding for the fall, chances are I will keep it on.
This dark blue bed throw is not only soft and comfy, it brings out the blues in the bedding at just the right touch. It can be thrown at the end of bed or right in the middle or where ever you’d like to “throw it”. It definitely gives a pop to the soft neutral colors.
Tangerine Lattice Damask Throw Pillow
My pillow here is my prize possession, as it remarkably brings it all together – don’t you think? This tangerine color was on sale and was just what I was looking for – so that’s a win for me. At $13.99 I thought about buying two but decided to buy multicolored floral rectangle pillows that I ended up not using. I’ve never had to send anything back to Wayfair, but this might be the time I need to or I might use them in another room of my home.
As you see, I added a tray and a few decor pieces (which I already had) and placed them in the middle of the bed on top of the throw. It gives it a slight warm feeling and adds more color. Also, did you notice the ceramic bird and the stool? I don’t have much room between the bed and the entry door so I used a stool for a table. There’s just enough room for a lamp and the bird which matches the blue.
I’ve said before and it’s true, go to Wayfair.com, find what you like, check the price elsewhere, and chances are you’ll go back to Wayfair to purchase. Believe me, I like to save money just like everyone does, so I do price checks all the time. Wayfair to me is my number one place to go for all things HOME. I can’t tell you how many things I’ve purchased from them for my home as well as my garden.
A few tips about Wayfair. Set yourself up with an account and you’ll get 3% back on every purchase to use on your next purchase. Wayfair also asks for reviews…and they will pay you for it in rewards. You can apply these rewards (money) to your next purchase. They also have an awesome newsletter that gives so many ideas on decorating your home, office, garden, etc.
