Located just off US Highway 69, Carlton Landing is just a short drive from Oklahoma City, Tulsa, Dallas, and Northwest Arkansas. It took us about 3.5 hours to get there which made another successful road trip for this summer, not to mention one of the best summer get-a-ways we’ve had that’s close to home.
Carlton Landing offers home buyers the perfect living location to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city life, and permanent vacation homes surrounded by water, and rentals for those special vacations for the whole family to enjoy. Most if not all the homes are cottage style with several floor plans to choose from and lots of luxurious amenities. These photos are just a few of the homes I took pictures of, including the one we stayed in. I was in awe of every one of them!!
We stayed on the Boardwalk, which is an area close to the community pool and a hop skip and a jump from the dock where all water sports are located. Actually, anywhere you stay is a great location. Tracy and I spent quite a bit on the porch (above) watching Brody play outside. My husband took his morning walks around the whole place and came back with all sorts of things to tell me. There’s quite a bit of construction happening here – with new homes going up all over the place.
There are a couple of restaurants soon to open, which will feature gourmet meals made from Carlton Landing’s on-site farm. Farm-to-table is what it’s all about here. There’s also a small General Store that offers hamburgers and such, but most residents and renters bring their own food.
Carlton Landing residents and their renters can enjoy nature trails, kayaking, paddle boarding, swimming in the lake and pool, fishing and lots of relaxation and most of all cherished moments with your family. I had the opportunity to meet and talk with a renter first-hand. She and her family are from the Dallas area and spent their summer vacation on the property. I asked her what brought them there, and she said that her husband and boys wanted to be outdoors and do some fishing while she wanting air conditioning and a pool. Carlton Landing was a win win for all of them. She went on to say that Carlton Landing is the next big thing to happen in that area. She couldn’t say enough about the world class architect of the buildings. I think she loved it!!!
Of course, my son’s favorite place was the community pool. He would have stayed all day AND swam in the rain if we let him. Located next to the pool is a nice hot tub, and on the other side is a small splash area.
Gorgeous landscape and beautiful flowers surround the cottage homes. I was in awe while walking around.
More landscape along the Boardwalk.
On our second day, it rained and rained. I got a chance to take a few pictures of the rain around the cottage we were staying in. I love taking pictures after a good pour down. My pics seems to always turn out so gorgeous.
When it rains it pours, right?
Here’s a video I took of the running watering along side of our cottage we were staying in. It’s just absolutely gorgeous…and listening to the sound of the water trickling down all the way to the lake is worth it all.
From what we saw under construction it’s safe to say that Carlton Landing is growing rapidly and a popular place to be. They even have their own private school and wedding chapel.
