Have you had a chance to shop on thredUP.com for gently used clothes for your children or for yourself? If so, then you know how great their clothes are, and how thredUP takes great pride in delivering outstanding second-hand clothing to its new owners. Well today, I’m happy to spread the word about thredUP’s partnership in helping recognize and thank teachers for everything they do to help educate our children. Read on please.
“Fashion resale site thredUP.com has partnered with AdoptAClassroom.org to recognize and thank teachers for their hard work and the positive impact they make each day on our children’s lives. Teachers are extremely generous with their time as well as their money. According to AdoptAClassroom.org, teachers spend an average of $500 of their own money each year to equip their classrooms. Seventy percent (70%) of teachers have even purchased apparel items like jackets, socks and shoes for their students.”
Today, July 15th Raise a Hand for Teachers program starts. I would love, along with thredUP for you (my readers) to nominate a favorite teacher in your life. Here’s what they will get if they are the winners.
- Three (3) winning teachers will receive $2,500 for classroom supplies AND $500 thredUP credit for their classroom.
- Fifty (50) runner-up winners will receive $100 thredUP credit.
- Winners will be announced on Tuesday, September 8th
I’m nominating a teacher too. Brody will be entering Kindergarten this year, so I’m really not that familiar with any of his teachers yet…However, since I was a substitute teacher for 6 years, I know quite a few good teachers…and one of my favorite teachers just happens to be teaching Kindergarten at the school my son will be attending. I’m nominating Mrs. Knickerbocker, Kindergarten Teacher at Justin Elementary School in Justin Texas. Why? Because I subbed many times for her and loved how organized she was with her lesson plans, and how her students acted towards me, and how she supported me as a substitute teacher.
So go on, it’s your turn – nominate a teacher from last year’s school year and give her or him some credit for doing an outstanding job of teaching our kids.
