Every now and then Tracy and I get dressed up to go out. Yep, this is dressed up to us…jeans and a shirt!! AND….sunglasses on his cap….geesh!!
Tracy is on the Board of Directors for the SCI North Texas Chapter (Safari Club International). SCI is a non-profit organization about hunting conservation, hunters and hunter rights. They hold an annual banquet and auction which all proceeds go to the youth hunters of America. This year’s Dinner Banquet & Auction was held at the Omni Downtown Fort Worth Hotel.
Tracy and I spent the whole weekend there. It was fun getting away for this short time, even though it was only about 25-30 miles from home.
Friday night a select group had dinner at Bob’s Steak House which is located in the hotel. We sat next to the funniest couple and had a great time. I ordered salmon and the rest ordered steak. It was all good.
Saturday, while the men were working setting up the banquet and the auction items, us girls went shopping. We started out on Houston Street and ended up in Sundance Square. It was a beautiful day, and we just couldn’t believe the sunny and warm weather we were having on a February day. It’s suppose to be cold this time of year….but we were not complaining.
We had lunch at the Cheesecake Factory off Houston Street I think, then headed back to the hotel down Main Street. We were a little disappointed that there weren’t many lady’s boutiques to shop in – mainly restaurants is what we saw.
Us ladies at the banquet. We had a great time. The banquet was a sell out and they raised a load of money for the youth hunters and to donate to the Cody Jones Foundation.
