Along with other DFW Bloggers and their families, my son and I were invited to the Dallas Zoo ZooHoo Blogger Day. We were able to check out what’s new at the Zoo so we could let our readers know the exiting adventures going on at the Dallas Zoo!!
Did you know that the Dallas Zoo is the largest and oldest Zoo in Texas? You know what they say about Dallas? Well, the Dallas Zoo is Big too!!! Lots to do, lots to see so you’ll want to make plans to spend your whole day there!! Here’s a few things my son and I got to do at the Dallas Zoo ZooHoo Blogger Day.
Dallas Zoo ZooHoo Blogger Day
We definitely got the VIP Experience and treatment today. My son and I got to go behind the scene to the Cheetah Encounter. Yes, we and about 7 other DFW Bloggers and their families were in a cage, but definitely up close and personal with the Cheetah. Did you know the Zoo has a black Lab (I think it was a Lab) that’s friends with the Cheetah?
Here’s another behind the scenes – a couple of zoo employees brought out some of the most interesting animals they have a the Zoo. One BUG I don’t have here is the cockroach. Yes, they brought out a cockroach. Gena’s son got to hold it. He was reluctant too at first, but the brave little boy put that HUGE cockroach in his hand. YIKES! Sorry, I totally forgot what they said about it…but the squeal of everyone’s voice was worth it!!
While I have your attention with the cockroach…hehehe….I wanted to let you know what adventures and activities the Dallas Zoo has coming up this year. Check this out!!
- Safari Nights summer concert series
- Halloween Nights
- and a special presentation by National Geographic photographer Joel Sartore on Oct. 27
- and I’m sure a lot more!!
We Fed the GALAPAGOS TORTOISE
This attraction for us was huge and fun…and something no one else will get to do. I told you we had VIP treatment!! We got to fed the Galapagos Tortoise! We were more than excited about this…we were elated!! Children, as well as adults thought this was the best thing ever. Not sure if we or anyone else will get this chance again. It’s not a normal activity that the Zoo does.
Put visiting the Dallas Zoo on your list of things to do with the family in Dallas. The Zoo is opened year around. Please follow @DallasZoo and #DallasZooblogs to read what other bloggers had to say about our awesome VIP Experience Dallas Zoo ZooHoo Blogger Day.
