I like making crafts when I can find the time, especially for occasions like Halloween. These simple DIY Halloween paper crafts make cute kid treats for your child’s friends at school. Now that my son is in Kindergarten, I now have good reasons to get back to crafting. I mean, I do have a whole room devoted to crafts!!
Because of allergies and such, Brody’s Kindergarten class won’t allow us to bring food as a treat, so Brody and I made these fun paper treats for his classmates. They can add it to their Halloween decorations at home, or simply just play with it. We added ours to a Halloween tree I made. (Coming in another Halloween post.)
We only used 3 items to make the paper treat.
1. STRAWS – I purchased these at a boutique, but I’m sure you can find some similar at Michael’s or Hobby Lobby.
2. HALLOWEEN CONFETTI is what these are called. I believe I picked them up at Hobby Lobby.
3. GLUE DOTS – I used what I had in my craft room from Stampin’ Up! but these can also be found at any craft store. Just use 2 or 3 glue dots to attached confetti to straw…and boom – you’re done!!
Here’s the kicker – I made up a cute centerpiece with all the straws and plan on giving it to Mrs. Knickerbocker to place on her desk. If she wants, she can distribute these however she sees fit. I’m going there today to give it to her and will take a picture with the centerpiece on her desk or where ever she prefers. Just hope she’s okay with the skeleton!!! I’ll let you know!!
For the centerpiece, I used a glass jar, tulle for the bow, and a printable that I found online, and white and orange shred.
Mrs. Knickerbocker loved it!!
So what do you think? Simple? What sort of Halloween treats are you making this year? I need more ideas for next year!!
