With all the talk I’ve been hearing lately about how pedicures and manicures at local spas are giving women sores and such, I thought I’d look into making a nice all natural Peppermint Foot Scrub for myself and my mom. That way the scrubbing part can be done at home and if wanting to, going to a spa for a nice professional polish would be the thing to do!
I made this foot scrub using 100% pure essential oils. You’ll find this scrub to be nice and soothing on your tired feet!
Peppermint Foot Scrub
What you’ll need:
- 1 Cup each of Dead Sea Salt, Epsom Salt & Baking Soda
- 15-20 Drops of Peppermint Essential Oils or other Invigorating/Energizing EO
- A few drops of Tree Tea Essential Oils for antibacterial purposes
- Glass bowl and a Glass jar with lid
Dead Sea Salt was not so easy to find. I couldn’t find it at Sprouts or at Central Market so I ordered a large bag online from SaltWorks. While I was there I also ordered Himalayan Pink Salt b/c Central Market had some but it was really expensive for a small amount.
Mix Salts and Baking Soda all together in a dry clean glass bowl. FYI – I had ordered coarse dead sea salt and for this recipe I put a cup in my grinder and made it a fine grain.

Mix thoroughly breaking up any pieces that might clump together. Store in glass jar with lid.
Now for the fun part. Peppermint EO is known for its invigorating energizing affect, so you may not want to give yourself a foot scrub right before bed. Try this in the morning or mid-afternoon. While in the bath or shower, get you a foot scrubby or you can use your hands, and start with about a nice size tablespoon and start scrubbing those feet – reaching for the heels, the side of your feet and the back side of your big toe and scrub everywhere else too. Follow by applying some nice soothing lotion all over your feet (I’ll see about making that too!)
I like giving myself foot scrubs because my feet are so darn sensitive that I get tickled if someone else does it. Enjoy this homemade peppermint foot scrub.
