It’s not like me to miss out on adventures with my kid and I hope I never have to. Do you feel the same? If so, let’s hit play so we don’t miss family time due to joint pain. In the northern mountains of New Mexico where we vacation every year, my kid loves to take hikes up the mountainside. We love our family hikes as my husband and I get in some good exercise while making family memories. This is one adventure I don’t want to ever miss out on.
See, when I was 16 years old, I was in a car accident. I flew out the window and busted up both my knees. I was one lucky girl that night with only minor injuries to my head and knees. Well, thirty years later I started getting a tingling feeling in my knees, and ten years after that, I’m now experiencing pain in both knees. It scares me to think one day I may have to have knee surgery.
I remember a couple of years ago my cousin Barbara having knee replacement surgery and her telling me that she wasn’t looking forward to it. She chose to have one knee done at a time. I’m not going to lie, she was in pain afterward, so much she wasn’t looking forward to having the other knee done. However, once it was over, she was glad. Barbara won’t ever have to miss out on taking her family on their annual cruise to the beach because she took care of her joint pain.
It’s moments like finding broken tree branches to make letters on our hikes that I would truly miss if my pain in my knees got any worse. It’s memories like this that would be jeopardized if I never did anything about it.
