No doubt about it…I’m here to tell you that eating healthy WILL save your life. Not only will it do that but it will also carry you into the next century feeling fabulous. Here’s to eating mindfully.
Eating Mindfully – To buy or not to buy Organic Produce
HOWEVER….I eat healthy too. By that I mean, I eat my vegetables and my fruits. I also eat flax seed, almonds, walnuts, pistachios and other nuts, dried cranberries, etc. I cook with good oils, I put either agave or maple syrup on my waffles and I eat rolled oats for breakfast! So see where I’m going with this? Yes, I still enjoy the foods that aren’t good for us, but I eat them in moderation…BUT here’s what I don’t eat. I don’t eat at fast food places on a daily basis, or on a weekly basis, and for that matter on a monthly basis. Have I eaten a Sonic Burger (my favorite…or used to be) in the past 6 months? Um…probably not, but I have had a chicken sandwich or two at a fast food place recently.
I have 3 downfalls – and they all start with C. Cheese, Chips & Cookies
Since my word of 2014 is “Mindful” – meaning I will do all things mindfully – which includes what I eat – I have to eat the three C’s mindfully – I have to think before I eat them…or I will bust. I love them…yum yum yum!! See, I’m not perfect!!
Here’s my salad from my first organic produce subscription.
Anyway, onto my new subscription to Organic2U.
A friend of mine gets her produce delivered from them and she kept showing it off on FB. So I finally asked her where she was getting those beautiful veggies and fruits. I looked them up and found that they deliver to my neck of the woods. I’m excited about my first shipment…if only I can get my husband as excited…UGH! Look them up http://www.itsorganic2u.com to see if they deliver to your house.
My Budget Harvest Box consisted of bananas, oranges, pears, carrots, green onion, collard greens, farmer’s choice lettuce, eggplant, mango, russet potatoes, celery, & gala apples
Any idea on how to prepare collard greens??? I figure I can juice them, along with the celery and carrots.
Why buy Organic? (comes straight from Organic2U) – The presence of agricultural chemicals like pesticides in our food system is greater now than it has been, and the long-term effects of exposure to these chemicals are, at best, not reliably known, and at worst, proven to cause harm to humans.

I don’t think eating organic is life threatening and for sure it’s a personal decision – one that I’m still toying with myself. Here’s to your health!!
