From films, TV shows, and books…your child is bound to have a few favorite characters they would love to be like. Mine loves to play in character and would rather do so than play outside. Halloween costumes are an investment in my house simply because I can encourage playtime with costumes all year-long.
Don’t just let your child wear that Halloween costume once, let him or her play in it all year long and when they want. Don’t forget, after Halloween is the perfect time to grab some costumes at half price, if not lower.
Brody’s latest costume is Max from “Secret Life of Pets”. I actually picked this one out for him. He wanted to be Ghostbusters for Halloween, so I got one to review, he it a few times, then he was done…and it’s not even Halloween yet!!! So, when I won an Amazon gift card I bought this Max costume with it. I believe he loves it!!! Can you tell? Let’s see, he has slept in it, got it dirty from playing outside, ate dinner in it, and he’d sleep in it again if I would let him. I told him that I would have to wash it first!!!
Encourage Playtime with Costumes
Did you know there’s over 4000 kid’s costumes to choose from that our kids can have some fun playtime with? Don’t you agree that playtime in costumes allows them to be imaginative, creative, perhaps more outgoing, etc.?
Let’s see my son, Brody has been…
- Spider Man
- Captain America
- Ninja Turtle
- Spider Man (not a typo)
- Venom Spider Man
- cutest Frankenstein ever…but he didn’t much like that one.
- Buzz Lightyear
- Iron Man
- I’m sure there’s more.
If your child likes to dress up and play in costumes, let them….let them all the time. I see the difference in my child when he is in costumes. He’s happy, more vibrant, imaginative and yes, crazy!! Don’t forget to look for the after Halloween sales. Seriously, my husband and I were in a Walmart store where we picked up three costumes for under $5 each. Cheap therapy is what I call it!!
Everyday is a new day around here, you never know who he’s gonna be coming down those stairs. It so so funny. This is one playtime I certainly encourage.
Check out Secret Life of Pets – MAX Halloween Costume (affiliate link) on Amazon…he might just be on sale in a couple of weeks!!!
Don’t forget to encourage playtime with costumes – it’s such an inexpensive way for kids to have fun and be themselves. Oh, and of course, why not join in the fun!!
Here’s a round-up of a few costume photos I could find of my son through the years.
