In a small town near where my mom lives on Cedar Creek Lake is Scurry, TX is a quaint place called Whitworth Ranch Retreat. They fill their weekends with all types of get-together’s, from weddings to family reunions. This particular weekend they held the Wicked Tea Art Event for ladies that craft – Fall Craft Class: Pumpkin on Canvas.
Fall Craft Class: Pumpkin on Canvas
I craft. I love to craft. Lately, I haven’t found the time…until now. I signed up only for the Pumpkin on Canvas class and spent the weekend at my mom’s house. This class was awesome. Instruction was spot on by the wonderful and talented Sandra Feazel. The whole day was awesome. Lunch was yummy!!
Me at work. Like my apron? A lady brought a several of her handmade aprons to sell and I bought this one.
Every one’s pumpkin turned out great, yet all different. You’ll see a group picture at the end here.
Pretty proud of my pumpkin on canvas. Love how each step made this pumpkin come to life!!
This is Sandra Feazel – the Artist
I first met her about 4 years ago at the Funky Finds Indie show in Fort Worth. I saw her again at the next show I went to and it was then we both found out we knew someone in common….my son that passed away about a year before. She didn’t know, so I told her and we both wept. From then on, I’ve had somewhat of a bond with her and I think she felt the same way. I’ve been meaning to take a class from her way before now, but life kept getting in the way.
Look below at what she made JUST for decoration!!
Miss Thang (she’s mine)
Her JUST for decoration was very popular and the ladies wanted to buy them. She said she didn’t make them to sell…but if we really wanted one, she would sell for $25 each. I took the top one, and named her Miss Thang!! Are these not the cutest mummies you’ve ever laid eyes on?
Oh, and I’m featuring Sandra next month in my Women In Business Series. Besides her talent here, she’s an Interior Design Professional. So be sure to click link above on Nov. 1 to read all about her!!
Well, until the next time I can get out her way to take another class, I’ll be enjoying my pumpkin on canvas and Miss Thang!!!
PS. If you haven’t taken an art class from instruction…do it…It’s fun and it’s really easy!!! While you’re hanging out here, check out a simple DIY Halloween paper craft that I did (only 3 items used)
