While I did a little chicken scratch on my cards here, and cracking up at the same time, it took me back to all the times my dad and brother made us laugh when we were growing up. Heck…they still do, especially my dad. Eighty-four and still going strong in the funny department!! More about my dad on down. I love Hallmark cards, don’t you? I enjoy getting cards in the mail and for some reason I always find myself turning the card over to see where it came from. I suppose I’m looking for that trusted name in greetings cards – and that would be Hallmark.
Have you seen these birthday greeting cards from
Hallmark at Walmart called Funny Pet Cards? Their cards have pictures of real animals that were submitted by real people through Hallmark’s card contest. These cards are perfect for that adult in
your family that’s always cracking jokes and/or for that friend of yours that
loves animals and likes to laugh out loud! Have you got a family member that farts out loud and blames it on the dog? Gross, I know, but I can’t count how many times my dad did that. Well, these cards would be perfect for them! My favorite card is the one with the long-eared Dachshund on it. That “fang” had me rolling on the floor. This one goes to my Uncle Roger (my dad’s half brother) because of all the times he jokes about how he’s not really the age is getting ready to turn!
Did you know you can earn rewards for the Hallmark cards you buy at
Walmart and any place else? The new Hallmark Rewards Program is a great way to get rewarded for all the greeting cards you purchase. Everything is done online, from signing up to reported card purchases to redeeming your rewards. There’s even an app for that!! Plus, as many holidays and occasions there are that we send out greetings to
our loved ones and friends, rewards will add up quickly. For every 5
cards you buy, you’ll earn a reward. Start now and get rewarded for the
cards you’ll be sending out for Easter and Mother’s Day, and of course
not to mention all the birthday cards – I mean who doesn’t send out
birthday greetings! Visit Hallmark Card Rewards Program to sign up.
Walmart has a nice end cap display that shows all the Funny Pet Cards. They were definitely picked over when I got there! Come to think of it, I don’t really like spending too much on cards, but at $2.97 you really can’t go wrong….and the orange envelopes are so bright and cheery.
More about my dad (Pepaw to most).
I had written a blog post about him last year for Father’s Day titled “My Cantankerous Dad – Happy Father’s Day” – boy was that post popular. If you read it, you’ll know why I put my dad’s name on the card with the horse. Really, all these cards fit him to the T. Just look at him. Can I just say my title best describes him still to this day! That red hat – he insisted on wearing that hat when taking family pictures in 2012. And that red shirt – our colors were suppose to be maroon, purple & gray! Below is our family photo so you can see how he STANDS out. Definitely the focal point of the picture. I would love for you all to read all about him here.
|The Byars Family – My dad – the cut up, the fart blaster, the ole codger, the man in red – that’s our dad!
DAD – THIS ONE’S FOR YOU!! AND I’M NOT EVEN GOING TO WAIT UNTIL YOUR NEXT BIRTHDAY TO GIVE IT TO YOU!!! YOU DESERVE IT NOW! HAHA!
I have found with my family members and some friends sending out
birthday cards (belated ones too), it’s the funny
cards that are the solution to getting a smile….and a thank you. After all, we’ve got to embrace our age, and what better than to just laugh about it, right? Funny Pet Cards will most
certainly do the trick. The funny one-liners coming from these quirky animals are just plum crazy hilarious!
