We love the mountains, but we chose to vacation at the beach this year. Here is a stroll through our road trip on our family vacation to Orlando, Florida.
Our Family Vacation to Orlando, Florida
Out of all the pictures I took, this one is my favorite. So natural and a bonus of a scenery! Both were looking to the right at something…just wished I knew what it was that caught their eye. I didn’t notice they were doing that until I saw the pic later that day. My husband didn’t remember what they were looking at!
I have to send special thanks to +DistrictDrive and #Chevy for letting us take this “loaded to the max” 2015 Chevy Tahoe LTZ all the way to Florida and back!!! Never a dull moment riding in this Tahoe!! It made our time on the road very relaxing and we felt safe. Loved it!!
Drove to Mobile, Alabama and stayed the night in an IHG property and also on the way back. That’s a very nice town. Next time we go a beach, we may just go back here to visit their beaches. I heard great things about the white beaches – Orange Beach and Gulf Shores Beach.
Our first, middle and last activity…hanging by the pool at the hotel. Believe it or not, swimming with daddy was Brody’s favorite thing to do. This hotel had 3 pools but we hung out at the main one the most. The waterfall was nice to listen to and Brody liked swimming under it.
Visiting Clearwater Beach, FL on our 3rd day turned into an all day trip. Brody’s second favorite thing to do!! I think he would be a beach bum if we lived close to one!! We ate a nice restaurant that was walking distance from the beach and went shopping. It was a hot day for sure!!
We went to Disney World on our 4th day which was the reason we went to Florida!! We had fun. It was hot, but not that crowded. A friend of mine told us that Mother’s Day weekend was the 2nd best time to go with fewer crowds. And it was. Brody wouldn’t or couldn’t ride some of the rides, so we rode the Buzz Lightyear ride 3 times and another one 3 times.
A couple of days later we went to Cocoa Beach (oh phew I spelled it wrong on the pic). Since Brody enjoyed Clearwater Beach so much, we wanted to take him to another one. We mainly walked in the water and just had fun!! I had forgotten what is was like to go to a beach because we have been going to the mountains on our summer vacations. I loved the beach when I was younger, so completely satisfied with this trip!!!
Brody shucking corn at a roadside store in Mississippi on our way home. This family-owned store was so cool inside. I think we bought about $30 worth of jellies and sauces. The owner let him shuck three stocks of corn, then gave them to him.
We drove from Texas to Louisiana to Mississippi to Alabama all the way to Florida and back on our 9-day vacation. We had a terrific time and memories were made!!
