As I go through this journey as a mom again, I’m constantly reminded of what a great job I’m doing raising Brody as my very own. This makes me tremendously happy and very appreciative. Of course, I couldn’t do it without my husband by my side. As some of you may know, or recall that when my son passed away and Brody’s bio mom left his life, we decided we were Brody’s Mom and Dad, and not his grandparents. We raise Brody to this day as his parents, caregivers, Mommie and Daddy. We will, however, tell him everything when the right time comes. We have many friends and family who support us on this, and we are thankful. Perhaps, that’s why I’m always told I (and we) are doing such a wonderful job raising Brody.
|From 5 wks old to Kindergarten, we are pretty proud of our little boy!|
Have you ever had someone tell you that you’re a good parent, and it making a huge impact on the way you felt about yourself? I bet it did. I hope we all remember the times that people have supported us in our parenting so that we can instantly support others when that moment arises. Don’t forget to hug someone today and tell them what I great job they are doing raising their kiddos.
Remembering back to the goal of what Sisterhood of Motherhood is all about, that is, to encourage support, not judgment when it comes to parenting, and working towards the ultimate goal of raising happy and healthy children, sure makes me feel good that a company like Similac has noticed a problem…and is offering a solution.
Have you seen the second video made by Similac? It’s about seven moms who talked about judging others and being judged – and at the end they all come together and support one another. It’s very heartfelt and moving. Maybe you can relate to a mom. You can see it on my first blog post – Let’s End Mommy Wars Together!
