Lots to do around here! We went to A Farm, The Zoo and Cabela’s all in one week….lots of animals to see and learn about!
First, we visited a local farm in Keller, TX and had a blast seeing & touching their pets. They offer this to all their patrons at no charge. Brody got to see goats, chickens, rabbits, and pigs. I bought some organic food in their store. Can’t wait to go back!
Tracy, Brody and I went to The Fort Worth Zoo on a Thursday. Got there early, grabbed a great parking space and got the stroller out and Brody wanted to walk….walked the entire time. The crowd wasn’t too bad either. Thursday is a great day to go to the zoo. Rode the train, fed the animals, ate lunch and visiting every living animal at that zoo!! Brody had fun and we wore him out…slept all the way home.
Cabela’s – Definitely a place to go for some daddy/child bonding time. But this time, Brody and I went to Cabela’s “Kids Day” that they have every year. My husband was there at a booth that they set up for the business he works for. Brody participating in a lot of activities and every bit of it was free. We could have stayed all day. Love this store for doing this each year for the kids.
Fort Worth Museum of Science and History – I bought a yearly pass for up to 5 people including myself. So I can take all 4 of my grand kids on this pass. The Omni Theater will be $3 for them and $5 for me. I great deal for a family of 5. There’s also other exhibits that we can see that’s included with the pass and there’s a couple that are not, but at a reduced price. Water fountain in front of Museum to play in too!!
Of course there’s other places to go to in the Fort Worth / Dallas area, such as:
Joe T. Garcia’s
Ft Worth Convention Center
Great Wolf Lodge
Dallas Zoo – which we are going to go to
The “new” Ross Perot Museum
The Dallas Arboretum
Texas Motor Speedway

such as the Speedway Club and Speedway Tours, there’s something for
everyone at Texas Motor Speedway that brings out the racer in all of us.
Although Tracy and I like to take a yearly vacation out of Texas (sometimes 2), and we did just get back from visiting Seattle – we have plenty of places around town that we haven’t taken Brody to yet, so we look forward to several STAYCATIONS in the near future!!
We’re hoping Ft. Worth doesn’t get any hotter than 100 degrees this summer. I would prefer 80 weather myself!!
