Green Kid Crafts – an eco-friendly, monthly arts, crafts, and science box
subscription service for kids that sparks creativity and cultivates
respect and love for the environment. Founded in 2010, GKC are the
nation’s original craft subscription service.
Each month, thousands of
kids all over North America receive boxes filled with fun projects that
challenge creativity, develop new skills, and extend into creative play.
Each theme-based box includes all the materials to create 4 activities. Each project is designed by parents and tested by kids.
The Kids Craft Box I received to review is all about “Nature” and includes 4 eco-friendly activities that can be done outdoors. It’s a really nice box and I believe it will keep a kid very busy outdoors (which is great) and kids will learn lots about the environment in which they live.
The crafts include a bag that you decorate with things you find outside, a journal to make and decorate, a scavenger hunt list, a pine cone bird feeder to make with peanut butter (packet included), and a sun print paper with recycled cardboard frame.
This kit will be fun for Brody and I to tackle together. Keep in mind, he is not quite 4 years old, so this will be fun for us, yet a little stressful for me as I know how he is with directions….yikes!! He’ll love the bird feeder making and the scavenger hunt will be fun too.
We went on a scavenger hunt…and we found lots of things!
Brody made the pine cone bird feeder and hung it in a tree for the birdies to eat. He loved it.
My overall thought about the Nature Discovery Box I received is that its crafts are educational and for outdoors which is a great addition to teaching your children about nature. Being outdoors with your child is much better than sitting in front of the TV. A Win-Win for both child and parent!!
