We splurged and bought well-deserved windows for the whole house. Our old but charming home is in need of a few updates so we started with the windows. So glad we did and so well worth the money we spent. Now, I need to clean them all. I took what was left of the bottle of Windex I had stored under the kitchen cabinet and went to town on my new windows. I was able to clean the entire windows inside, but ran out before I could finish the outside. SOOOO…..
Since I’m trying to go all natural around here, I decided to check out how to make natural window cleaner….and here’s what I found.
DIY Window Cleaner
- 16 oz. Spray Bottle (glass is better – or use a hard plastic bottle)
- 1 1/2 cup white vinegar
- 1/2 cup distilled water
- 8 drops of any citrus oil or of your choice (Lemon, Lime, Grapefruit, Orange, or a combination)
Combine all together in a glass spray bottle and shake up. Be sure to shake bottle each time before using. Now you’re ready to clean…and I’m ready to clean my new windows on the outside!! Now this method of cleaner (vinegar + water) has been around for a long long time. Adding EOs is somewhat new and definitely helps in the shine and the smell. You’ll get “streak free” every time! Try it on mirrors too.
My beautiful new windows. Now the house needs a power washing! I love that the old solar screens are off. Solar screens are nice to have, but they do hide the beauty of the windows.
Let spring on in!!
