Come aboard the Hurtigruten and experience Norway to its fullest. There’s so much to do and see! Between fall and spring is the best time of year to see the Northern Lights illuminate. This is a very popular site-seeing adventure that travelers seek to go to. Taking a cruise is certainly one of the best ways to go. Better yet, traveling the Hurtigruten way would give you the best experience to explore the culture of Norway and provide you visits to the villages and towns along the route. There’s plenty of Hurtigruten Cruises to take, so pick your favorite and let’s go!
While visiting a friend this past summer in Montana, his mom was telling us about the time her and her daughter went to Norway and how they enjoyed visiting there so much that they went back for a second trip that very next year. They both went on and on about how beautiful Norway was and how the weather was spectacular and even how nice the folks were there. Tracy, my husband has now put visiting Norway on our traveling bucket list. With the information I’ve gathered here while writing my article and with my friend’s thoughts and recommendations, I can’t wait to go! Tracy and I (believe it or not) have never taken a cruise, but I think traveling to Norway on a Hurtigruten Cruise would be so fun!!

Husky Sled Adventure Norway…what an adventure this would be! This is definitely on my bucket list! I can see spending a family Christmas vacation here and riding with the dogs – OMG!
Besides seeing the Northern Lights and riding with the Huskys (definitely my favorite), there are other winter adventures and packages that are perfect to experience the Norwegian culture…the Hurtigruten way. Here’s a few adventures to seek out:
- Explore the gateway to the Arctic, Tromsø
- Excursions including Husky Adventure, Lofotr Viking Feast, dog sledging and wilderness Adventure Camp
- See the famous Nidaros Cathedral
- Cross into the Arctic Circle
- Sail through the stunning Lofoten Islands and the local fishing villages
- See the majestic Seven Sisters mountains
Hurtigruten brings to life the nature and enchantment of Norway and its people. Steeped in Viking heritage and the roots of it’s culture and history, Hurtigruten has been an active part of Norway’s coastal waterways for 120 years. Hurtigruten is for those who appreciate unique, natural, and active experience immersed in culture and history.
