This easy paleo blackberry crumble is probably the easiest dessert I’ve ever made. I like to bake healthy desserts whenever I can…AND desserts that I think my husband and son will eat. This one – they both liked!!
My husband gave me Practical PALEO recipe book by Diane Sanfilippo, BS, NC for Christmas, and I’ve been trying varies recipes from it since. This dessert is in there under Fresh Blueberry Crumble. I just substituted blackberries b/c that’s what I have on-hand.
I used about 2 pints of blackberries (I didn’t measure), juice of one lemon, 1 cup almond flour (you can use almond meal too), 1/4 cup chopped walnuts, 1/4 cup melted butter, 2 tbl pure maple syrup,
1/4 tsp cinnamon, and a pinch or 2 of salt.
Place blackberries in baking dish, and squeeze lemon juice all over and mix in. Mix everything else in mixing bowl, then spread it over the blackberries. Bake for about 40 mins or until topping is golden brown. YUM! SERVES 6 (maybe)!!!
There’s a few of us that don’t follow the paleo diet, so some of us added a dollop of vanilla ice cream on top. YUM!
This dessert is light and seriously delicious. I think the next time I make it, I’ll make more topping…as that’s the best part!!
This Paleo Blackberry Crumble is perfect on a Texas wintry day…like we’ve been having lately. What’s your “go to” dessert on a cold winter day?
