It’s with great happiness that we finally bought a puppy….Well, wait….little puppy had a sibling, and we just couldn’t let the other one be alone – so we bought two puppies!!! We will meet these two on Weds for the first time. No names yet!! Boy left, girl right.
After losing Reload, Scooter, then SamSam all within 6 months of each other, we were very very sad. All died of something different. While Reload’s body just gave up due to being old, poor little Scooter died of cancer. SamSam might have develop congestive heart failure (his litter brother died of it just a few short months before), but died so fast that we really are not even sure. So many have said SamSam could have died of a broken heart (being alone). I thought I was going to lose it. Those were my babies…our family. I’m crying as I write this because I miss them so.
Well, it’s been about 7 months since SamSam passed, and now it’s time we bring some lovin’ back into this family by way of a four-legged friend. See, this family isn’t complete without a dog.
So, I read on Facebook where a friend of mine lost her dog and a couple of weeks later got another one through a Rescue group. For me, it took a little longer to find love again after losing my three. But I asked her about it and wanted to know more about the Rescue group. She said it was called Tzu Zoo and they are out of Plano (TX).
After looking them up and falling in love with every dog they posted, I decided to start the adoption process and start filling out papers and getting my references together. I wrote on the adoption papers that I wanted a girl puppy, but that I would be happy with a girl that was older.
Before we could really blink an eye, I got a text that they just got in TWO PUPPIES….brother and sister. They are 1/2 Shih-tzu and 1/2 Yorkie. It was instant love and I knew I wanted the girl, but that I couldn’t leave the brother alone. I asked my husband and he said, “It’s up to you”. So, we are taking them both!!
Until Weds when we get to meet them for the first time, but in the meantime, I am puppy prepping!!
Do you have any advice for us on puppy raising?
