We took the most fabulous family road trip to New Braunfels through the beautiful Texas Hill Country a couple of months ago…and much to my surprise, all three of us loved it so much we want to go back. I actually forgot to post this back then…but my photos alone are too good not to let the world see them!!
Road Trip New Braunfels Texas Hill Country
Taking Hwy 281 is most definitely the way to travel to go to anywhere along the Texas Hill Country. The drive is beautiful and you get to see scenery you wouldn’t get to see if going on Interstate 35. We passed antique shops, garden shops, hills and meadows. Small towns on the way have a lot to offer. After all, they want you to stop in their town so they make it extra special for us Texas travelers.
This family road trip to New Braunfels Texas Hill Country is one trip everyone should do a couple of times. The scenery alone is something to look forward to. If you like the outdoors and nature, you’ll put this trip and route way up high on your bucket list!!
I bought 10 of these handmade hammers (below). I thought it would be cool to paint them or to leave as is. I believe they would make a great conversation piece if nothing else. There’s two that look like they were made from birch which I will not paint. Aren’t these neat?
When we got to town we went straight to the Natural Bridge Caverns where we took the Discovery Tour. I wrote a separate post on that if you would like to read it here _____________.
That evening after going to dinner in the quaint town of Gruene, we went swimming in the hotel pool. This is still one of Brody’s favorite things to do when we go on vacation. Yep, all the fun activities we do, he likes to swim in the hotel pool the best. Speaking of Gruene, if you’ve never been, put it on your bucket list too. It’s such a cool small town with lots to offer; such as antique shopping, nice indoor & outdoor dining, a famous dance hall where George Straight first played, lots of pots filled with beautiful flowers, ice cream shops, parks, and more. Gosh, I would simply go crazy in this town if I lived here.
Whenever I get a chance to take photos of old trucks I do. I love old trucks – all kinds, all colors.
The next day we went to Schiltterbahn. I also wrote a separate post for that too. To read all about a fabulous time, go here ___________________.
We love road trips the best. Can’t wait until our next one!!
