Nothing but a ball in our house with our little one playing baseball with i9 Sports. Batter Up! Spring is in Full Swing around here!
Batter Up! Spring is in Full Swing around here!
Who’s looking forward to springtime? I know we are because it seems the whole world’s winter wasn’t one to remember!! Well, it’s outdoor sports time around here, and we are so looking forward to sitting outside on the fields watching our little Brody hit that small ball and run around those bases.
Yesterday was their first game and oh was it hilarious to watch. Some kiddos (including Brody) had never played before. Some (including Brody) didn’t even know how to hit the ball on that tee stand. Brody’s first swing went the wrong way. Even though Tracy had been throwing the ball to him in the backyard for quite some time, it was a little intimating for Brody to be up to bat for the first time.
Last year we had him in soccer for two different seasons, and that was a sight to see. Most if not all kids played in the grass and ran around like chickens. Last season Brody never even kicked the ball once. But the coach did say that he was the happiest boy out on the field. We were satisfied with that! All though soccer is a great sport and one that gives kids the chance to run around and get lots of exercises, we wanted to try another sport to see if he might like it better or at least adapt to it better. T-Ball it is.
So far so good, Brody enjoyed himself out on the field and running to first base. Afterward, he said in the car that he had fun….and that’s all that counts. Having fun at this age is all that matters.
The coach told all parents if we thought we were going to come out here and sit in a chair and watch the game, think again….this is a “parent” sport too. You all will get just enough exercise as the kiddos will. So Tracy took that to heart and was out on the field with the rest of them the whole time. So awesome to watch!!! He did mention he will have to get his glove!
Happy Spring y’all! What’s your plans this spring? Do you have a child or grandchild in a sport? I’d love to hear all about it!!
