When was the last time you had a date night at home? Well, perhaps that’s too long. My husband and I spent a date night in the kitchen making his incredible cast iron roasted Brussels sprouts – sponsored post.
We’ve been married for sixteen years and haven’t shared the kitchen together much at all…unless you consider him cooking and me cleaning. It’s no secret that my husband is the cook of our family. His cooking and meal planning is spot on. He loves it and can make a meal without even looking at a recipe. Well, guess what? He’s letting me share his space in the kitchen for a date night…and he is showing me how to make his cast iron roasted Brussels sprouts.
Cast Iron Oven to Table Roasted Brussels Sprouts – Sponsored
Over the holidays, we were able to score a couple of cast iron skillets including the one I’m using in this post. We love how food tastes cooked in cast iron. Being excited, I wanted the experience cooking in our new cookware together. So, he agreed to spend a date night at home showing me how to make his Brussels sprouts. Romantic or not, I’m thrilled.
This cast iron serving dish by STAUB comes with a wooden stand, so it’s easy to go from oven to table. This and numerous other grill pans are available on Wayfair. Did I mention that my husband makes the best roasted Brussels sprouts? Oh, I did. Well, I’m letting you in on his secret. It’s not a secret, but oh they taste so good. I would have never thought of making Brussels sprouts this way.
My Husband’s Cast Iron Roasted Brussels Sprouts
- Brussels sprouts – frozen or fresh
- Ham or bacon
- Olive oil
- onion – optional
- salt and pepper
- cast iron skillet
We call it “oven to table”, however, he starts on the stove to cook the Brussels sprouts, ham or bacon, and onions in olive oil. Don’t skip this part. Sprinkles salt and pepper on top, THEN he places the cast iron skillet and all in the oven on the top rack and broils the Brussels sprouts for about 10 minutes until they are nice and crispy. I like mine practically burnt. He watches it the entire time. I don’t think you need to open the door to watch it more than twice, but he does.
I’ve written many times how I love to shop at Wayfair. It’s indeed a place where you will find great deals. My 4 or 5 years of experience with them have been nothing but satisfying. When you buy online from Wayfair, you’ll be able to find out when your product will be delivered, read customer reviews and view common questions.
Hope you’ll at least attempt to make my husband’s Cast Iron Oven to Table Roasted Brussels Sprouts – Sponsored. Even if you or your spouse doesn’t like Brussels sprouts, chances are you’ll want them cooked this way. We’ve had too many friends tell us this. Try a date night at home soon!!
