Whenever a season is over I “re”decorate. Everyone does that, right? A new season has begun, so today, I’m sharing creative ways to redecorate for a new season.
Creative Ways to Redecorate for a New Season
Wow, summer is over, and yet it’s still hotter than I can stand here in north Texas. But that doesn’t stop me from dreaming! Dreaming of Fall weather that is. I can’t say the warm summer months will be missed, and just so you know, here in Texas we love the winter in the summer and the summer in the winter…go figure, right!
Since summer is officially over, that means it is time to redecorate for the new season. First, I always get out what decor I already have, but also I always add something new to the mix. So, whether you’re decorating for the Fall season or just wanting to make a space look pretty, I’ve got a few ideas for you.
A New Season
Think storage items; like floating shelves, corner shelves, decorative baskets, boxes, vases, etc. I love love love vintage decor and have it throughout my home and in my garden room. Mixing new and vintage decor is also a fun thing to do.
So, I have this corner shelf that was given to me by a friend because she couldn’t find a place for it in her home. Lucky me! I also have lots of vintage items which include beautifully framed photos of the women in my life that mean so much to me. Since I love to shop (who doesn’t), I first always go online to see what’s new and to find things that are useful to me.
I tend to keep my colors on the warm side for the Fall season, but also like to add a splash of color. I’m looking for items that I can store my precious keepsakes in, like these framed photos of my loved ones.
When decorating think of a way to arrange your decor in a way to show it off the best. Think about using decorative baskets, vases, old boxes to place precious keepsakes in. Don’t be afraid to set everything close together or in groups. The Coastal Sunbrella Basket I picked out at Wayfair is perfect because it’s small yet roomy inside. I put my great aunt’s photo inside along with an old pillow, and a little trinket for a final touch. Placing the basket in front of greenery and next to another pillow puts it all in a nice grouping. I love old things and can’t seem to throw anything out.
Be sure to put a spot of color in and around. I like to decorate in white and beige then add a little color to it for a pop.
My Corner Shelf
There’s no better place to show off the women who mean the word to me than on this corner shelf inside my garden room. I spend a lot of time out there working on crafts or just sitting.
With the new Fall season here, it’s time to put up all summer decor and get out the warm comfy colors. If you’re like me and like to add in new decor with every season, especially storage items like beautifully decorative baskets, then you need to see what Wayfair’s storage selection has to offer!
I hope you’ve found that my creative ways to redecorate for a new season have inspired you to get out your “next season’s” decor and perhaps buy something new to go with it!!
