Forget those powders you used when you were a teen. Here’s a good reliable DIY All Natural Body Powder that you can use every day.
Don’t underestimate the power of body powder!! I remember back in the day using store-bought baby powder all over my body after I got out of the shower. That lasted all through my teens and into my twenties. Now, years later, I’m finding that powder helps with these dreaded hot flashes I get ever so often. Yep, body powder is excellent for hot flashes. Just sprinkle a little powder after a hot flash and you’re good to go.
Of course, back in the day, we didn’t worry about bad chemicals in our body products like we do today. So this time around I made my own. It’s so easy to make body powder. I promise you’ll never need or want to buy store-bought body powder again. This powder can very well be used on babies too.
DIY All Natural Body Powder
- 1/2 cup aluminum-free cornstarch
- 1/4 cup arrowroot*
- 1/4 cup oatmeal (ground)**
- 10 drops Roman Chamomile essential oil (optional)
*Arrowroot is found in health food stores. I buy it in bulk so I can purchase exactly how much I need. I also store all my leftover powders in the freezer.
**Oatmeal is very good for the skin, but I use oatmeal in my body powder simply because it helps with the flow of the powder coming out of the shaker. Without it, the powder just pours out.
You’ll need something to put your body powder in like a powdered sugar shaker. I use a Pampered Chef shaker that I already had. It works perfect.
First, ground the oatmeal
Second, combine cornstarch and arrowroot
Third, add in oatmeal
Fourth & final (optional), drop in 10 to 15 drops of 100% pure essential oils, such as Lavender or Roman Chamomile, or the mixture of the two.
