Because it’s blackberry season, you make anything and everything with this yummy berry, right? Try making this easy paleo blackberry crumble tonight.
You don’t have to grow your own blackberries to enjoy this dessert. There are plenty of fresh ones at the store. I always try to eat fruits that are in season. When blackberry season is over, I gather up what we have left and put them in the freezer for my next planned dessert.
Easy Paleo Blackberry Crumble
This easy paleo blackberry crumble is probably going to be the most simple, yet desirable dessert you’ve ever baked. I personally like to bake healthy desserts, but mainly I need to make sure my husband and son will eat it. This one was a winner – they both like it.
My husband gave me a recipe book called Practical Paleo by Diane Sanfilippo for Christmas a couple of years ago, and I’ve been trying various recipes from it since. This dessert is in the book under Blueberry Crumble. I substituted with blackberries because I have plenty of blackberries from our blackberry bush growing immensely in the backyard.
- 2 pints of blackberries
- juice of one lemon
- 1 cup almond flour (you can use almond meal too)
- 1/4 cup chopped walnuts
- 1/4 cup melted butter
- 2 tbs pure maple syrup
- 1/4 tsp cinnamon
- pinch or 2 of salt
Place blackberries in a baking dish, and squeeze lemon juice all over and mix in. Mix everything else in mixing bowl, then spread it over the blackberries. Bake for about 40 mins or until topping is golden brown.
SERVES 6 (maybe)! See how easy this is? Try it tonight!!
If you don’t follow a strict paleo diet go ahead and add a dollop of vanilla ice cream on top. YUM!
This easy paleo dessert with blackberries is light and seriously delicious. I think the next time I make it; I’ll make more topping…as that’s the best part!!
Serve this Easy Paleo Blackberry Crumble on a hot summer day or take to your next neighborhood outdoor get-together!
