From movies to TV shows to books, your child is bound to have a favorite character they would love to be. Mine likes to play in character and would instead do so than play outside. Halloween costumes are an investment in my house just because I can encourage playtime with costumes all year-long.
Don’t just let your child wear that Halloween costume once, makes him or her play in it all year long and when they want. Don’t forget, after Halloween is the perfect time to grab some costumes at half price, if not lower.
Brody’s latest costume is Max from “Secret Life of Pets.” I picked this one out for him. He wanted to be Ghostbusters for Halloween, so I got one to review, he wore it a few times, then he was done…and it’s not even Halloween yet!!! So, when I won an Amazon gift card, I bought this Max costume with it. I believe he loves it!!! Can you tell? Let’s see, he has slept in it, got it dirty from playing outside, ate dinner in it, and he’d sleep in it again if I would let him. I told him that I would have to wash it first!!!
Encourage Playtime with Costumes
Did you know there are over 4000 kid’s costumes that our kids can have some serious fun wearing them during playtime? Don’t you agree that playtime in costume allows them to be imaginative, creative, perhaps more outgoing, etc.?
Let’s see my son; Brody has been
- Captain America
- Ninja Turtle
- Spider-Man (not a typo)
- Venom Spider-Man
- cutest Frankenstein ever but he didn’t much like that one.
- Buzz Lightyear
- Iron Man
- I’m sure there’s more.
If your child likes to dress up and play in costumes, let them. I can see the difference in my child when he is in disguise. He’s happy, more vibrant, imaginative and yes, crazy!!
Don’t forget to look for the after Halloween sales. Seriously, my husband and I were in a Walmart store where we found three costumes for under $5 each.

Check out Secret Life of Pets – MAX Halloween Costume on Amazon. It might just be on sale in a couple of weeks.
Don’t forget to encourage playtime with costumes – it’s such an inexpensive way for kids to have fun and be themselves. Oh, and of course, why not join in the fun!!
