Well, as I sit and write this blog post, it’s been a little over five years since we’ve had Brody. I can’t believe it, but he is now in Kindergarten. First Week of Kindergarten…Success!!!
First Week of Kindergarten…Success!!!
He’s so excited!
Brody’s Teacher – Mrs. Knickerbocker
We walked him inside, and he found his locker and his place to sit. I’ve walked Brody in every day this week, but won’t anymore come Monday. I think he knows the drill now.
I was sure that Brody would be tired when he got home from school…but NOOOOO not Brody. He’s wired up. But one thing I noticed is that he’s not asking for the Kindle, nor is he asking to watch TV. He’s too busy playing with our dogs and going out to the backyard – YAY!!!
Brody was the teacher’s helper on Thursday and got to be interviewed by all his friends. Brody said his favorite place to shop was Target and that he loves cake and pancakes and lemonade. He also brought home a packet where each of his friends wrote something about him and drew a picture. Sweet. Can you just imagine my scrapbook…..(that I haven’t even started yet)!!!
Friday is Assembly Friday where all kids go to the gym in the morning, and the principal and all teachers join in and talk about what has happened during the week and what’s coming up the next week. We all said the Pledge of Allegiance (Thank God they still do), We said the Texas Pledge and then we had a moment of silence. Just like I remembered it when I used to sub.
Parents – get your kids ready for Kindergarten with this Kindergarten Checklist – it’s been viral here on my blog.
