Press for time? This is so simple, I did it in 20 mins or less. It took me longer to get the photo just right than to make it. And oh, decorate the jar with what you have on hand. I love stamps and scrap booking, so I have a lot of great paper crafts and ideas at home already. A simple string tied around the jar is perfect!
This spice jar idea is perfect for the Father who has everything and loves to cook. If he’s at all like my husband, he will appreciate you going this far to actually make him something from scratch.
Here’s a Quick and Easy Homemade Father’s Day Gift – SPICE IT UP!
I got this idea from Sprouts. They send me emails once a month and this gift idea was in their latest issue. I’ll give the ingredients that they listed, but by all means use what you have on hand. I did and mine turned out great.
Ingredients for Spice Jar:
- 1-1/2 TBS chili powder
- 1 TSP black pepper
- 1-1/2 TSP onion powder
- 1 TBL Thyme
- 2 TBL Sea Salt
- 1 TSP garlic salt
Easy directions: Layer multiple times in a small mason jar with lid & decorate with scrap paper, string, whatnot.
It can’t get any easier than this. I’m giving this to my dad this weekend. He and [my mom] will love it!
Here’s the ingredients I used – chili powder, black pepper, garlic powder, thyme, course sea salt, more garlic powder (a different kind and texture), then started the layering again and used black peppercorn and topped it off with hot pepper flakes – that’s it.
Don’t have ingredients listed here? Not to worry, use what you have on hand. He’ll love it!
I’ve got another perfect gift for dad – A Simple Birdseed Feeder you can make.
