Have you ever woke up, looked at your “to do” list for the day and wondered how you’re going to get it all done? Read on to see how to prioritize your life in a good way to be more positive and self-fulfilling.
How to Prioritize Your Life in a Good Way
Our days are jam-packed every day. Monday-Friday we spend the majority of our day doing things for other people. And for what reason? A job? Other people? Outside factors? Yes, to all. We are all guilty of spending our days doing things for others. While this isn’t necessarily a bad thing, it can turn into a negative quickly when your focus isn’t on you or supporting you in a way that helps you grow.
It’s not a hard concept to understand. If you have the feeling that you are putting other people and things in front of you and your priorities, then you probably are. But, don’t fret! Recognizing it is the first step, re-prioritizing your life is next and is super easy to do.
Allow yourself to live your life in a good way
It doesn’t mean to throw your calendar and your planner out the window, but it does say that you don’t have to schedule out every second of your day. Allow yourself downtime every day that isn’t “scheduled.” Take in the beauty of being able to live in the moment to make a decision, instead of having your schedule control every second of every day.
Take a look at your journey up to this point
Are you enjoying where you are in life? Are there things that you don’t enjoy, but feel as if you need to do them anyway? Take a step back and perhaps start writing down some important things to you in a journal or a life planner. Take into account what is truly important to you and how you can make those items your focus. If you don’t believe in what you are doing and trying to accomplish, then you won’t enjoy the process of trying to do it.
Pursue your passion
Allow yourself to love something wacky and unique! Have you always loved to sing? Then invest in that karaoke machine and sing your heart out in the comfort of your own home. If you like it, then DO it! Opinions shouldn’t matter when it comes to passions. Passions are the drivers of dreams, and sometimes thoughts can turn into realities. Allow your love to be a journey for you, and be up for the peaks and valleys that you may encounter along the way!
Cut out the fluff
You are an adult. You are not obligated to anyone but yourself, and your family. So, stop feeling bad about not meeting up with someone for dinner, or not going out on a Saturday night. Those are fluff items. While they can be fun, if they don’t make you happy or enhance your life in some way, it’s not doing you a bit of good. Try cutting out one or two fluff items per month and exchange them for something that excites YOU. The results may shock you in how it transforms your mood!
Leave the past at the door
Past thoughts and memories are like anchors – they are only holding you down, causing you to float aimlessly in one place. Cut that cord. Make peace with the past, and move forward.
Take care of your health and your body
If you do, it will take care of you. Focus on being less stressed and eating healthy. By doing this, will provide excellent fuel for your body giving you better moods and more energy allowing you to continue doing and exploring the avenues of life that make you happy. Say goodbye to stress-eating and hello to more content and healthier body, mind, and future.
Notice a trend? Prioritizing your life can be done quickly and efficiently, and 100% by you. You live one life, make it one that you want and that makes you proud. Live your life for you, your goals and your happiness and say goodbye to the world of trying to make others happy. Embrace the tips that work, and you may be amazed by how the year 2018 is the year of YOU. Celebrate the new year, and the NEW you. Focus on yourself first, and allow the rest of the world to follow suit.
I do hope this list on how to prioritize your life in a good way has helped you in some way. If you found it to be informative, please share it with others. And remember to stop and look at the bees and smell the roses too.
