I’ve always wanted to do something spectacular with my backyard. It’s so big and nothing is back there. My husband agreed…it’s time for us to start planning my future garden room. It’s really a “she shed”…but don’t tell my husband!! No boys allowed!!!
My Future Garden Room
So, we built a small garden last year and this year I planted mostly herbs. Herbs are easy to grow so I think I’ll plant them again next year, along with more lavender and flowers. Not having much luck with vegetables. I’m not giving up on that part, but I really like using herbs from my garden when I make things, whether it be food or DIY projects or even for decorations.
Here’s the front view. As you can see, the garden room will be longer than it will be wide. We will enclose that door and that window and take away that roof. That’s the back of our garage and a small porch which we rarely used. The garden room will be big enough for a small table, chairs, bench, and a cabinet of the sort. I pretty much already have the furniture for it – I’ll just take it out of my house! No, really, my home decor would look much better in the garden room and that means I’ll just have to get more furniture for the home. Oh boy, my husband will love that idea…NOT!!
I already have a name for the garden room. Actually, my best friend from high school thought of the name. See, before I was hoping to get a SHE SHED built which would have been on the side of what you’re looking at above…but that fell through. Then my lovely husband came up with this idea. It’s way bigger and cost double of what I had planned for the She Shed. It will even have a window a/c unit and I may just move my office out there!!! What do you think?
Okay, so when you name a room or a house or a GARDEN ROOM…you must make a banner for it, right? Here’s my banner!!
My Future Garden Room – Vintage Vibes is her name!!
Hopefully, everything inside will be vintage with some minor exclusions….like my Keurig !!
Okay, the projected date of completion is not set yet…I mean the projected start date isn’t even set yet – HA!! But my hopes are that the room will be all finished before the kids start back to school in August – so let’s say around the 2nd week in August. Stay tuned, I’ll be back with an update or two.
