This new puppy handbook will be an ongoing list of blog posts that will be written by me or someone else who has experience with having a new puppy. I’ll write about our new puppy and what we have learned throughout his puppy stage. Oh my….and it’s a lot….a lot of biting!!
Meet Someday “Jett Black” Vermejo, aka Jett – AKC Registered Labrador Retriever.
Jett was born January 10, 2017. We brought him home when he was 8 weeks old. We’ve had puppies before but nothing like Jett. He’s a mess, to say the least. The more I know the more I’d wish we would have waited until we were fully prepared to have another puppy in the house. But hey, Labs make the best pets – they are so loving and they starve for attention which my son makes sure he gives…one way or another!!!
New Puppy Handbook
Below are articles I wrote about puppies. My hope is that…besides all the darling pics of Jett, that you get something out of the info here BEFORE bringing home your new puppy. If not before, then after – but better to know than to not. Shoes cost a lot of money and so does your computer cables!!
New Puppy Essentials: Preparing For A Puppy – I had written this post when we got our two rescue pups about 2 years ago. Info still applies today!

A dog is truly a man’s best friend….and a boy’s and a mama’s. Feel free to leave a comment on something that you have learned from having a new puppy. I might just add it to my new puppy handbook.
