I’m forever rearranging my home. I take home decor I already have and move it around. My mom does that too. Also, when I see something in a magazine that I want to do, I immediately go do it. Here’s my latest.
Quick and Handy: Turn a Cabinet into Cookbook Storage
I took the two cabinet doors above the refrigerator off with a screwdriver – very easy to do. Then I grabbed all my recipe books and placed them up there, along with my Kitchen Aid mixer and a few bowls that you can’t see. I was also able to unclutter some kitchen counter space (see below). I’m always trying to keep my kitchen counters clean and junk-free.

UNCLUTTERED KITCHEN COUNTER….NOW, IF I CAN JUST KEEP IT THAT WAY!
I had my cookbooks in two separate places, now they are all in this storage area above the frig. I thought a basket holding a water pitcher, my favorite Alaska cookbook and some faux grass topped off the look. My next project is to paint those yellow walls white…what was I thinking!!! >>>>>>INSERT>>>>>>> I did I did. See my new kitchen and hallway walls here
Back in Oct ’13, I painted my dining room a gray blue color and I really like it, so I’d like to tie-in that room with my kitchen and take away the rustic red color and that awful yellow. A never-ended redecorate/rearranging time around here!! To see my Dining Room Redo, click here. Okay, so that’s two redos I’ve done w/out the help of my husband…go me!!
Would you be so brave as to take off a couple of cabinet doors to make room for storage, and have it opened like this? I’m still looking up at it to see if I really do like it. My husband must like it, he hasn’t said anything bad about it yet – so that’s good. I also did this to my mom’s kitchen, except we took her cabinet doors off that were above the kitchen sink. Her and my dad likes the look.
